Following in the footsteps of another former TNA star, current WWE Champion AJ Styles, Roode made the move to WWE and has now finally spoken out on why.
Roode spent 12 years with the WWE's rival promotion and speaking with Brian Fritz of Sporting News, Roode revealed how he lost his passion during his time with TNA.
Still maintaining that his 12 year stint with them was a positive time of his life, Roode also highlighted the final two years of his career in TNA as the reason for leaving.
"The last two years of that company, I didn't love it anymore. I started to lose my passion, which was concerning to me. I didn't like being away. I didn't like performing." - Roode on his time with TNA
Roode clearly didn't enjoy working with TNA by the time he made the choice to leave the company, and he also touched upon his decision to join the WWE.
"I wanted a different opportunity and that's all I wanted. My first conversation with WWE was just that. I want opportunity and they'v egiven me opportunity and here I am today."
