Manchester United’s youngsters are understood to be concerned about this year’s Christmas panto.
According to The Sun, a show is put on at the end of every calendar year in which the club’s starlets “mercilessly mock” the senior players.
It is an unwritten rule that “nothing is off limits”, the report claims, but will the players be brave enough to take the p*ss out of Zlatan Ibrahimovic?
They’re all a bit worried about the prospect of mocking the powerful Swedish forward, a black belt in taekwondo, and you can understand why.
However, if they’re as brave as some of their predecessors, they won’t shy away from giving Zlatan some stick when the night rolls around.
how youth teamers once mocked Ronaldo and Nani
The report reveals a funny story about two former youth teams stars - unnamed, unfortunately - who once took the mick out of Cristiano Ronaldo and Nani.
One of them dressed as Ronaldo, with the other making himself look like Nani - although the latter also wore a dog collar.
The suggestion was that Nani was Cristiano’s lapdog.
It’s unclear how the two Portuguese superstars took the jibe - although considering every other player also received a ribbing, no doubt they saw the funny side.
Nani was constantly compared to Ronaldo
Nani was billed as a potential new Ronaldo after United signed the talented Portuguese winger from Sporting Lisbon, Cristiano’s former club, in the summer of 2007.
However, such comparisons were unfair on Nani, who spent eight years at Old Trafford.
Although he was capable of producing breathtaking moments of magic, he lacked the consistency - and perhaps the drive, too - of his compatriot.
Nani finally got his moment in the sun during Euro 2016
However, Nani finally emerged from Ronaldo’s shadow during the Euro 2016 final.
After Cristiano hobbled off with an injury in the first half, against tournament hosts France, Nani was handed the captain’s armband.
And under the 29-year-old’s lead, Portugal defied the odds to become European Champions for the very first time.
