Some people genuinely believe that Cristiano Ronaldo has the edge over Lionel Messi because, unlike the Barcelona superstar, he has proven himself in two different leagues.

Whereas Messi has spent his entire professional career to date at the Camp Nou, Ronaldo has flourished in both the Premier League and La Liga with Manchester United and Real Madrid respectively.

Some people even believe that Messi, arguably the greatest footballer of all time, would struggle to cut it in England’s top division.

Messi might not be the strongest player in the world but the idea that he’d struggle to perform against Premier League teams - yes, even Stoke City - is surely nonsense.

The five-time Ballon d’Or winner has demonstrated throughout his career that he can make any player look stupid with his unbelievable talent.

Here's the full-length version...

We'll probably never see Messi in the Prem

Critics will say that doing it against Premier League teams is different to ‘doing it’ in the Premier League.

However, we’ll probably never know if Messi could ‘do it’ in England’s top flight because he’s likely to spend his entire career with his current employers.

Unless, of course, he returns to Newell’s Old Boys before he retires.
