It seems like the injury bug has struck SmackDown LIVE once again, as rumours circulating online suggest that Becky Lynch could be missing the No Mercy pay-per-view later tonight.

Right now, the WWE are yet to confirm the news, but there’s a chance they won’t mention it at all.

At the Backlash event, we already knew Randy Orton was injured and wasn’t cleared to wrestle. Instead, the company ran an injury angle which meant he couldn’t compete on the night, leaving Bray Wyatt to face off against Kane.

Whether the WWE run a similar story remains to be seen, but numerous sources, including Dave Meltzer of the Wrestling Observer, have confirmed that Lynch is out of No Mercy and won’t be able to defend her SmackDown Women’s Championship against Alexa Bliss.

Pro Wrestling Sheet’s James McKenna claimed on Saturday night that although he hasn’t heard any specifics, Lynch could be out for a month.

So it raises the question as to whether she’ll be forced to follow in Finn Balor’s steps and vacate the title she captured in a six-pack challenge in September.

Although Meltzer himself hasn’t disclosed what the injury is, Squared Circle Sirens are reporting that the Irish Lass Kicker suffered a neck injury a little while ago, and she’s been working through it ever since, so there’s a chance it was aggravated, and it could force her to sit out this event.

This would have marked her first defence of the gold, taking on Alexa Bliss in her first major singles matches, whether it was on NXT or the main roster.

If she is missing the show, the WWE are yet to announce the injury or if there will be a replacement opponent for Bliss.
