English mixed martial artist Michael Bisping successfully defended his UFC Middleweight Championship for the first time last night when he defeated Dan Henderson via unanimous decision at UFC 204.

This was Bisping's fifth victory in a row and the win allowed him to become the UFC’s all-time wins leader. However, it was a tough victory to come by as he had to survive early round knockdowns and heavy facial damage, winning by a close decision 48-47, 48-47, and 49-46 in his favor.

Judging by his Instagram photo the following day after his victory, the fight has certainly taken its toll on the middleweight champion.

Bisping posted a picture of himself with his brother the day after his fight on his Instagram, showing his bruised and swole face which surprisingly still featured some blood as well, and stitches underneath his left eye.

Yet, despite the damage done to his face, the British fighter was still smiling because he was still champion.

Next opponent?

Bisping didn't attend the post-event press conference because of his injuries, but he did call out several middleweights for not meeting his standards in his octagon interview after the fight, including Yoel Romero, Luke Rockhold, Chris Weidman, and Jacare Souza.

At UFC 205, Weidman takes on Romero, while two weeks later, Rockhold will battle Jacare. The winner of those clashes will likely face one another with the victor of that bout likely to be the Bisping's next challenger for his title at a later date.
