If anybody said just two years ago that AJ Styles would be one of the main attractions in the WWE, let alone the cornerstone of a WWE brand, they might have been sectioned.

And yet, here we are. It's near the end of 2016, and the 39-year old Phenomenal One is the WWE champion.

After being the face of TNA for so long, it was often deemed impossible that Styles would make his way to the company that had alluded him for so long.

Now he has three consecutive victories over John Cena and is the face of the SmackDown Live brand which is neck and neck with Raw in the ratings.

So now that AJ Styles has made it to the biggest stage of them all, what dream match does he crave the most?

Speaking to ESPN, the former Bullet Club member revealed it wasn't Brock Lesnar, it wasn't The Rock and it wasn't even Triple H.

"I always say when it comes to dream matches that is not up to me, that’s up to the WWE Universe," Styles insisted. "That’s up to the fans. But there is a guy on SmackDown that I have yet to wrestle yet that’s certainly gonna happen at some point, and that’s Randy Orton."

Orton has been a constant on WWE television since his debut in 2002 and while he has been in the business nearly as long as Styles, he has spent the entirety of his time in the WWE, thus making it impossible for the two to have met.

However, now that they both reside on SmackDown Live, it is inevitable their paths will cross sooner or later.

Styles is set to face Dean Ambrose for the near future and Orton is locking horns with Bray Wyatt, but one would think it is just a matter of time before the Viper and the Phenomenal One collide.
