The highly anticipated return of Goldberg finally happened this week on Monday Night Raw, and he came back as expected, with a bang.

For the first time in 12 years, 'the greatest champion in WCW history' made his return on WWE's flagship show to respond to Paul Heyman's - or as he would call him a 'fat little stooge' - challenge to have a WrestleMania 20 rematch with his client, Brock Lesnar.

Goldberg produced everything we excepted him to. The walk to the ring from backstage, which included support from WWE superstars, standing in the smoke and pyro, and his iconic 'YOU'RE NEXT!' line. Before he delivered that line, he told a tale of how he thought his career was better left alone because of the way he had finished it during his last time in the company.

To the chant of his name from the crowd, Goldberg said he missed being a superhero to the little kids around the world.

The former WCW star said he 'created a little drama for himself' the last time he was with the WWE, referring to the way which he ended his time at the company when he wrestled against The Beast Incarnate at WrestleMania 20, and he thought because of that, maybe he shouldn't come back.

However, after hearing Paul Heyman's challenge, he thought “maybe I have one last ass-kicking in me” and decided to come back to the company, and he accepted the call with more than his iconic 'BROCK! YOU'RE NEXT!' He also revealed Lesnar would be his last.

It looks like Goldberg will, therefore, have one more match against an old rival at Survivor Series next month, before possibly going into the WWE Hall of Fame next year at WreslteMania 33. A fantastic way to finish off his WWE career.
