Football News

Although FIFA is pretty detailed when it comes to player statistics these days, it still pales in comparison to Football Manager.

The new version of FM is out soon - in fact, the beta was released on Monday evening - and the player stats for Liverpool have been unveiled by a user on Reddit.

You can see the new player stats by scrolling a little further down this page - we expect they’ll cause plenty of debate between supporters.

It’s important to remember, though, the incredible amount of research that goes into getting the stats correct, not just for the elite players at top clubs, but every player who features in the game.

Sports Interactive have created such a comprehensive database of player information that even football clubs and scouts have been known to use it. And why not?

Let’s start with the goalkeepers

Simon Mignolet

Rated three stars out of five - a ‘quality player’ - who boasts 18 for reflexes but only 10 for command of his area.

Loris Karius

Rated half-a-star higher than Mignolet - with the potential to be a quality player - Karius looks set to become a top ‘keeper in the game.

Alberto Moreno

Not many Liverpool fans like Moreno, but FM reckon the 23-year-old still possesses the ability to become a quality left-sided full-back.

Mamadou Sakho

Might not have much of a future at Liverpool in real life, but FM fans may opt to keep the talented French defender at Anfield in the game.

Dejan Lovren

Stats aren’t quite as good as Sakho’s, but decent nevertheless.

Joel Matip

Look at those physical stats.

Ragnar Klavan

His mental and physical stats are impressive.

Joe Gomez

Four stars for potential ability. Wow.

Nathaniel Clyne

No need to enter the transfer market for another right-back.

James Milner

Play him wherever and he’ll do a decent job.

Jordan Henderson

Liverpool’s captain brings plenty of energy and, crucially, leadership.

Emre Can

Only 22, but Emre Can already has four stars along with some seriously impressive attributes.

Adam Lallana

Technique and first touch both rated 18/20.

Georginio Wijnaldum

Want goals and assists from midfield? This man will provide them.

Marko Grujic

‘Potential to be one of the best players at the club’. The Serbian midfielder looks like a future beast.

Philippe Coutinho

Coutinho, needless to say, boasts some of the best stats out of every player in the Liverpool squad.

Sadio Mane

Some of his technical stats aren’t great, but he does have 13 for finishing, 15 for his first touch and 16 for dribbling.

Roberto Firmino

With four stars out of a possible five, the Brazilian is one of Liverpool’s key players.

Daniel Sturridge

Daniel Sturridge hasn’t enjoyed a brilliant start to life under Jurgen Klopp, but remains a top forward. That’s reflected by his stats in FM17.

Divock Origi

Potential monster?

Danny Ings

Don’t forget about this guy.
