The WNBA season ended in dramatic style last night as the L.A. Sparks won their third title with a 77-76 victory in game five of the series with the Minnesota Lynx.

It was a crazy ending to a brilliant series as the two teams traded baskets in the final minutes before a missed half-court buzzer beater handed the Sparks their first championship since 2002.

Three-time champ Maya Moore nailed an open jumper with 16 seconds remaining to give the Lynx a one-point lead before Nneka Ogwumike produced a clutch passage of play to put the L.A. franchise back on top.

Ogwumike rebounded a Chelsea Gray miss before collecting her own block shot and draining a two-pointer while falling to the floor.

Minnesota's missed shot brought an end to the game and the celebrations commenced. It was arguably the most exciting game to ever end a WNBA season and the excitement gripped a number of the NBAs big names.
