Neymar has his critics, but the Barcelona superstar is comfortably one of the world’s most exciting players.
The Brazilian forward is capable of creating moments of magic out of nothing - and that’s precisely what he did during the 37th minute of Barça’s La Liga clash against Valencia at Mestalla on Saturday afternoon.
Neymar’s astonishing through ball for Luis Suarez was arguably the best pass of the weekend - it was certainly the most outrageous - and he was unfortunate that his teammate failed to convert past Valencia goalkeeper Diego Alves. (Scroll down this page to watch the video).
Neymar, standing about 25 yards from goal towards the left touchline, squared up to Enzo Perez before quickly considering his options.
Rather than attempt to beat the Valencia holding midfielder, the South American brilliantly bent the ball into Suarez’s path with a magnificent pass with the outside of his right boot.

Suarez dashed through on goal and, from eight yards out, simply had to beat Alves.
However, for once, Suarez failed to produce the goods and his scuffed shot was saved.
Had the Uruguayan forward scored, Neymar would have just produced a contender for assist of the season.
Suarez made amends - and Barcelona won 3-2
Suarez made amends by levelling the scores in the 62nd minute.
Lionel Messi gave the visitors the lead midway through the first half before two goals in four minutes after the break - from Munir and Rodrigo - turned the game on its head.
Suarez’s equaliser gave Barcelona hope of taking all three points from the match - and they did just that thanks to Messi’s 94th-minute winner from the penalty spot.
