After his humiliating first round defeat during his UFC debut, a lot have questions have arisen regarding CM Punk's future.

The former WWE Champion left the company in December 2014 after relationships with senior officials reached an all-time low, and soon after, he signed a contract with the UFC.

After months and months of training, Punk then unfortunately suffered an untimely injury, which resulted in his debut being pushed backed.

However, he did finally make his UFC debut this year at UFC 203, but it was over in a matter of minutes as he tapped out to Mickey Gall.

After his humiliating defeat, a lot has been said about his future, with UFC president Dana White admitting that Punk's next fight might not be in the UFC.

Despite this, he himself wants to stay with the company and wants to get back into the octagon as soon as possible, which would ultimately rule out any potential return to WWE.

Given the state of his relationship with Vince McMahon and Triple H, a return to the squared circle is very unlikely, especially after stuff he said about the company after he left.

However, after his debut against Gall, it was thought he may reconsider and look to return, but that is still not the case.

According to Dave Meltzer and the latest Wrestling Observer Newsletter, Punk still has no intentions of returning to WWE and sources close to him believe it would be a loss of life should he make the return.

Meltzer said: "The thing with Punk is that, according to sources close to him, he would see going back to WWE as a loss of life."

He then continued by comparing Punk's situation with Goldberg, who has recently returned to WWE despite it looking very unlikely just a few years ago.

He continued: "As for Goldberg, he was just a businessman who had hard feelings about the past but would have no trouble letting them go if it was right for business."

So if another fight in UFC isn't likely, and a return to WWE isn't likely, it doesn't leave Punk with a lot of options.
