Draymond Green was a huge part of the Golden State Warriors' pursuit of Kevin Durant last season.

The forward, who came second in the voting for Defensive Player of the Year, was relentless in his attempts to entice Durant to the Bay Area.

Despite admitting he was like a 'crazy girlfriend', Green's - and the Warriors' - pitch worked and the 2014 MVP is under 48 hours away from his first game for the 2015 champions.

It seems Durant has settled quickly into life at the Oracle Arena and has become good friends with Green in a short space of time.

In a recent article published by Bleacher Report, the Michigan State product explained why he has become so fond of his new teammate in such a short space of time.

“I can’t tell you exactly when we became friends,” Green says, “but when it’s real and genuine, you can’t pinpoint it. The more time you spend with somebody, the more your relationship grows. I think we were together for 37 days this summer. I just realized, man, I like that dude because he’s a lot like me.”

For all the reported issues Green has caused in the dressing room - although Stephen Curry has disputed them - you can't doubt his importance to the franchise.

He really has become vital to their title hopes and will play a huge role in any challenge for a second NBA title in the past three years. Green and Durant have obviously hit if off, now it's time to show that chemistry on the court.
