It was expected that the Golden State Warriors would have some initial teething problems, but nobody expected that.

The San Antonio Spurs did not just come for the win at Oracle Arena, they came to take souls - which is what Jonathon Simmons did to JaVale McGee with this garbage timeposterizer.

In the opening night battle of the Western Conference's two best teams, the Spurs were the only outfit that looked 'super' as Kawhi Leonard dominated from start to finish.

The back-to-back Defensive Player of the Year showed exactly why he was that with five steals and a huge 35 points as the Spurs ran out comfortable winners.

Kevin Durant, on his debut, and Stephen Curry were strong on offence, but the Dubs were at sixes and sevens on defence with San Antonio taking full advantage.

Fresh off the back of their finals loss to the Cavaliers in the summer; in case you didn't know or had forgotten, Golden State let a 3-1 lead slip, social media was in no mood to go easy on the 2015 champions and their newest recruit.

Here is the best reaction from Twitter as KD and the Warriors went down 129-100 to start the season 0-1 for the first time since 2011.

It's a long campaign and those in the front office in Oakland will be saying 'I told you so' after numerous statements that they would be slow off the mark this season.

But there is a lot of expectation surrounding the organisation right now, and every loss will only prove fuel to the fire for those trigger-happy Twitter users.
