Paul Pierce may have missed the L.A. Clippers' opening night win over Western Conference rivals the Portland Trail Blazers, but he was still having plenty of fun on his Instagram.

The legendary forward - who posted a picture of a Llama he hired for his daughter's birthday a few months back - decided to show everyone who he was dressing up as for Halloween.

No, it wasn't an NBA player that has given him and his Clippers teammates nightmares, nor was it anyone conventional at all really.

The Truth opted for Rick James, the legendary R&B singer that sang such hits as 'Super Freak' and 'Mary Jane'.

For the younger audience, watch the Dave Chappelle skits of Rick James to get an idea of who he really is. Plus, they're hilarious. He even re-enacts one of the famous scenes for you.

Pierce has already stated that this will be his final season in the NBA and he plans to bring his career to a close as a Boston Celtic next summer.

The forward, who has career averages of 20 points a night and 5.7 rebounds, won his one and only NBA title with the Celtics back in 2008 alongside Kevin Garnett, Ray Allen and Rajon Rondo.

He was the NBA Finals MVP on that occasion, too.
