Love them or loathe them, football-related tattoos are here to stay.

We all know one or two supporters who have tattoos linked to their favourite clubs, but one Newcastle United fan has gone too far this week.

Way too far, in fact.

When Connor Stobbs tweeted “I’m about to make a very stupid choice” earlier this week, none of his mates surely could have guessed what he was about to do.

He then proceeded to show off his tattoo - positioned on his bum, of all places - which features a rather outlandish prediction.

The worst football tattoo ever?

Here is it: the tattoo in all its, er, glory.

It says “NUFC, EFL Cup Winners 2016”.

Newcastle probably won't win the EFL Cup

While Newcastle are still in the EFL Cup at the quarter-final stage, following their 6-0 victory over Preston this week, they still have their work cut out to win the competition.

They could beat Premier League side Hull in their next match, but Manchester United, Arsenal, Liverpool, Southampton and West Ham all remain in the tournament.

The year on the tattoo is wrong

That’s not the biggest problem with this tattoo, though.

Rather than ‘2016’, the tattoo should surely say ‘2017’.

The 2016 League Cup final took place back in February and it was won by Manchester City.

Connor, mate.
