The FA Cup send Man Utd brilliant tweet

Earlier this week, Manchester United took their official 2016/17 squad photo on the pitch at Old Trafford.

Eagle-eyed fans would have been quick to notice that Bastian Schweinsteiger was omitted from the picture, much to the dismay of the United faithful.

Strangely enough, Jose Mourinho decided to proudly include the Community Shield at his feet, to represent the first trophy he won as United boss.

It led to many wondering why he would include what is often seen as a minor trophy, but leave out the FA Cup they won back in May, which represented their first major trophy win in three years.

However, it's been suggested that Mourinho did not want that in the photo, due to it being won by his predecessor, Louis van Gaal.

And it was not only United fans to notice that the FA Cup was missing.

The official Emirates FA Cup Twitter account brilliantly responded to the picture, tweeting Manchester United's account with a singular disappointed-looking emoji.

The tweet, which you can see below, was retweeted over 1,000 times.

The FA Cup win was United's first for 12 years after they defeated Crystal Palace 2-1 after extra time.

It was England winger Jesse Lingard who scored the winner, lashing home from inside the area with just 10 minutes remaining.

The Red Devils have had a disappointing start to this campaign, currently lying seventh in the table with 14 points which is already six behind leaders Manchester City.

However, they are through to the last eight of the EFL Cup where they will host West Ham. Mourinho will be hoping that he can win his second trophy of the season, whilst attempting to claw his side back up the table.
