Randy Moss is an NFL legend and a bonafide future Hall of Famer once he becomes eligible for selection into the hallowed Canton hall.
However, there was a time where the wide receiver was in a bit of a rut, with three very average years in Minnesota and Oakland slowing down the great wideout. Thankfully for Moss, the New England Patriots came knocking.
However, Moss has admitted today that when he got the big call from Bill Belichick and the Patriots, he didn't exactly react in the best of ways.
Cussing Out Belichick
"I got a phone call and it was Bill Belichick," Moss said to ESPN. "I thought it was a friend or somebody playing with my phone. I actually cussed him out."
It seems like Moss realised his mistake immediately and the big man admitted that he started apologising profusely.
"When he kept saying it was Bill Belichick, I knew he was serious. I started being apologetic because I had cussed the man. Then he told me the Raiders were thinking about trading me. I had to be in Foxborough by 10 p.m. Eastern, or the trade would void. So, I just did everything that I could possibly do to get up there by 10 p.m."
Great Career Move
No wonder Moss did everything possible. After just 553 yards and three touchdowns in the entire 2006 season with the Oakland Raiders, the veteran enjoyed a new lease of life in 2007 under Belichick.
Linking up with another future HOFer in Tom Brady, exploded for nearly 1500 yards and scored an absolutely insane 23 touchdowns. It was one of the best years of his career and it came about the age of 30 - a time when most players drop off.
Not a bad career move at all. But just imagine if Bill Belichick had decided to put the phone down after hearing Moss cuss him out.
