There was a lot of uproar this year when Pro Wrestling Illustrated listed Roman Reigns as the best wrestler on the planet for 2016, finishing ahead of Kazuchika Okada and Finn Balor.

However, you can’t argue with their latest decision as current Raw Women’s Champion Charlotte Flair is officially on top of the PWI Female 50 list.

This is just the latest achievement in what has been an incredible year for her; she was the final WWE Diva’s Champion and the first and currently a three-time Raw Women’s Champion.

Not only that, she’s the first woman in 12 years to have a main event match on Raw, and made history alongside Sasha Banks to compete in the main event of a pay-per-view when she overcame The Boss inside of Hell in a Cell last week.

She also has a great pay-per-view streak, and it’s something the WWE could build on in the coming months, so we should expect bigger things from her.

Although, she’s not the only one dominating.

In fact, WWE’s four horsewomen all feature in the top five after Banks moves up a place from last year to come in second place.

Becky Lynch features at number four this year after a 17th placed finish last time out, and Bayley moves up from 11 to five this year.

The WWE women round off the top five, with current NXT Women’s Champion Asuka coming in at number three, having not featured in the list at all last year.

Despite there being some great decisions in regards to who finishes where there are still some questionable picks.

For example, Dana Brooke finishing above the likes of Alexa Bliss and Emma doesn’t seem accurate – although the latter has been out with injury.
