After a couple of months in charge at Manchester United, it was all going so swimmingly for Jose Mourinho.
He had just smashed the world transfer record to bring in Paul Pogba, his signing of Eric Bailly looked to be an inspired one, while free transfer Zlatan Ibrahimovic was banging in the goals as the Red Devils sat top of the league after three matches.
A couple of months later and it’s not quite as rosy at Old Trafford.
United are 10 points adrift of league leaders Chelsea, and they are in danger of crashing out of their Europa League group.
The Special One doesn’t look quite so special anymore.
While the results on the pitch have been surprising, something Mourinho is doing at their Carrington training ground has been surprising the United players.
The Daily Mail are claiming the players have been left in ‘shock’ by Mourinho’s attitude around the training ground.
They report that the manager has been avoiding his players as he struggles to change the fortunes of his side.
The players have spoken to each other about how he is entering his office by a side entrance in the morning, instead of walking through the canteen where the rest of the squad are.
They suggest that Mourinho is acting normally on the actual training pitch but it appears he is refusing to develop any individual relationships with players or staff alike.
Sir Alex Ferguson always used to walk through the canteen every morning and share an early morning chat with members of his squad - but it seems Mourinho has a different method altogether.
On the pitch, the former Chelsea boss will be desperate for all three points when his side travel to Wales on Sunday to face Swansea. His side have won just twice in their previous seven matches in all competitions - against Fenerbahce in the Europa League and against a weakened Manchester City side in the EFL Cup.
While Mourinho’s cold relationship with his players may not be the reason for their poor form, but it seems that some United stars really aren’t too impressed with his attitude.
