The crazy amount of money a £5 treble on Leicester, Brexit and Trump would have won you

To call 2016 a strange year would be a gross understatement.

It’s been a completely batsh*t mental year in which so many unexpected, weird and downright terrible things have happened.

On an unrelated note - *ahem* - Donald Trump has just been confirmed as the 45th President of the United States after securing a shock victory over Hilary Clinton.

Now, if you put a fiver on Trump to win the US Presidential election last night, you would have bagged yourself around £20. However, his odds of becoming president were 150/1 when he was first announced as a potential candidate.

And if you’d put the same amount on Great Britain leaving the European Union back in June, you’d have won around £45.

If you’d put a five quid on Leicester City winning the Premier League title last season, that would have returned you a cool £25,000.

The odds on a Trump, Brexit, Leicester treble

But how much would you have won if you’d looked into a crystal ball and correctly predicted that all three things - Trump, Brexit and Leicester - would happen?

Well, Coral have worked it out and the odds are staggering.

If you’d put £5 on the treble, you would now have over £15 million in your bank account.

That's still less than what football's big guns earn a year

That’s only £4 million less than what Cristiano Ronaldo and Lionel Messi earn in a single year.

By the way, £15 million is also less than what Gareth Bale, Hulk, Paul Pogba and Neymar earn a year.

Lord only knows what 2017 has in store for us…
