Romelu Lukaku has been in fine fettle for Everton so far this season, bagging a total of seven goals in 10 appearances across all competitions.
The 23-year-old is still being heralded as one of the best strikers in the Premier League, and it is often easy to forget that he is still only 23 years old.
And he was hoping to take that good form away with him on international duty as Belgium took on neighbours the Netherlands in a friendly.
However, it didn't quite pan out that way, and the Toffees frontman ended the game in a rather embarrassing fashion.
Having arrived in the game as a second half substitute, Lukaku managed to work his way into some space in the box in order to receive the ball from out wide.
And when it came, it was clear that this would be one of those chances that is harder to miss, and Belgium fans held their breath in anticipation of the net bulging.
Sadly, though, it didn't quite work out that way as a slight deflection before it reached him saw him spoon it over the bar.
While we're aware that he is human and these little deflections can throw a player off his stride in these situations, he really should have tucked that chance away from that range, though, considering he's meant to be so highly regarded.
Ajax forward Davy Klassen gave the Netherlands the lead in the first half when he converted a penalty after Jeremain Lens was brought down in the area by Tottenham defender Jan Vertonghen.
However, after a spirited Belgian fightback in the second half, parity was restored by Yannick Ferreira Carrasco, whose 25-yard drive was deflected into the Dutch net by defender Joel Veltman.
With friendly duties out of the way, Belgium will take on Estonia next week while the Dutch take on Luxembourg on Sunday.
