Barry Conlon's late goal earned Bradford a 1-0 victory over Bury to lift Stuart McCall's side into second place in Coca-Cola League Two.

Conlon grabbed the only goal of the game four minutes from time against the former league leaders to move the Bantams within one point of table-toppers Wycombe.

Peter Taylor's men now have a game in hand over their rivals after Tuesday's match against Macclesfield was abandoned with 23 minutes gone because of heavy snowfall.

Darlington maintained their recent good form as a 1-0 win at Rotherham saw them climb into third while fourth-placed Brentford were surprisingly beaten 3-0 by Chester.

Exeter have made a good start to life in League Two following their promotion but they were on the wrong end of a hammering as Chesterfield beat them 6-1.

Shrewsbury had to mount a spirited comeback to claim a point against Barnet in a 2-2 draw while Dagenham and Redbridge beat Grimsby 4-0.

Lee Thorpe (63, 73) struck twice to give Rochdale a 2-1 win away at Notts County and Lincoln climbed above Gillingham with a 2-0 victory over the Kent side at Sincil Bank.

Aldershot maintained their unbeaten home record with Louis Soares hitting the only goal against Port Vale in the 13th minute.

Craig Stanley (50) scored against Accrington Stanley to earn Morecambe a 1-1 draw after Henry McStay had given the visitors a fifth-minute lead when he put through his own net.

Luton's match against Bournemouth also fell victim to the weather with the clash of the bottom two abandoned after only eight minutes.
