Football News

The Jared Goff era is finally ready to start in Los Angeles and the LA Rams announced that the man they chose with the first overall pick this year will earn his first NFL start on Sunday.

The struggling Rams will take on the Miami Dolphins at home on Sunday and with frustration mounting amongst the fans on current starter Case Keenum, they're finally deciding to put their money where their mouth is.

The top pick

The Rams traded up during the off season in order to pick Goff first overal, but he has had to watch other rookie quarterbacks like Dak Prescott, Carson Wentz and Cody Kessler all get snaps first.

Should the Rams have brought Goff in sooner? Join the debate by becoming a GMS writer HERE:

The Rams are 4-5 this season and sit third in the NFC West - a division that at one point, they were on top of this season.

The Rams have failed to score more than 10 points in each of their last three matches - going on to lose two of them.

Their defense has been ranked amongst the best in the NFL but with a struggling offense, they have failed to establish a winning record.

Goff will now take control of the team with the Miami Dolphins his first opponent - putting them in the unenviable situation of facing a quarterback that no-one knows anything about.

Goff has sat on the sidelines so long, it will be very interesting to see what head coach Jeff Fischer has been able to transform him into.

Following the game against Miami, LA will travel to the New Orleans Saints then the New England Patriots, so it will be a very harsh welcome to the league for Goff.
