SmackDown Live 900 welcomed back The Undertaker and Edge to WWE screens, but one of the biggest talking points of the night took place to kickoff the night.
The Miz defeated Dolph Ziggler to capture the Intercontinental title for the sixth time and insert himself into Survivor Series and a match with Sami Zayn of Raw this Sunday.
Of course, the Hollywood A-Lister used dirty tactics to get the job done, as his wife Maryese reversed a roll up pin by flipping The Miz over to score the victory over his long-time rival.
With Dolph Ziggler capturing the belt for the fifth time at the No Mercy pay-per-view, many fans are wondering why The Showoff has dropped the title so soon and more importantly, why the WWE would deprive fans of a classic like Ziggler V Zayn.
According to NoDQ.com, the WWE have a reason for making the change.
The belief is that the reason the WWE had Ziggler drop the Title to The Miz is so that Zayn can capture it and take it to the RAW brand this Sunday.
Why Ziggler couldn't drop it to Zayn and it has to be The Miz is not quite known, but one could assume it has something to do with The Miz being a heel and it making for a better dynamic on Sunday.
As far as the storyline that Daniel Bryan might trade The Miz, that is apparently nothing more than a part of their ongoing story and nothing to that effect is actually in motion behind the scenes.
It doesn't make much sense that Raw would have two mid-card titles and SmackDown have none, but seeing as Raw is a three-hour show and SD Live is two hours, and they are also rumoured to be gaining the cruiserweights, it would make sense if Vince McMahon made these moves.
