Roman Reigns responds to criticism from fans on Twitter

It must be slightly tricky being Roman Reigns.

WWE want you to be the next top guy, but the fans don't want you anywhere near the title setup and the main event.

Despite being a popular figure during his time with The Shield, alongside Dean Ambrose and Seth Rollins, it all went south for the Samoan following the split.

It was made very clear, perhaps too clear, that WWE wanted Reigns to be their next John Cena, and after he won the Royal Rumble in 2015, it was almost the turning point for the majority of the WWE Universe.

The cheers he was once getting turned into boos and the fans were just not on his side anymore, forcing WWE to change their minds about Reigns' position in the company.

That could be why he is currently the United States Champion and not the Universal Champion, but with Kevin Owens' belt in his sight for the next pay-per-view, that could all be about to change.

However, Reigns doesn't only get abused at shows, he also gets his fair share of stick on Twitter, much like a lot of celebrities, and this week has been no different.

A few WWE fans have been quick to criticise Reigns, with one of them questioning his way of holding the United States Championship, one asking when he will be as good as AJ Styles, and another asking where all his fans were at live events.

Of course, Reigns didn't take these tweets lying down.

In response to the title tweet, he replied: 'It's not how you hold it. It's how you defend it. So how about you worry about you and I'll worry about me! #AhhhYessir'

With regards to the tweet about Styles, he said: 'Lol. Pretty sure i beat him not once but twice. You can watch it back on the #WWENetwork . #TheGuy #AhhhhYessir'

And finally, after being asked about where all his fans are at live events, Reigns said: 'Stop tweeting at work and earn some money. Then you'll be able to attend a live event and experience it yourself. #GoodLuck'
