Following Conor McGregor’s historic win at UFC 205, it was only a matter of time before Floyd Mayweather had his say on what went down at Madison Square Garden.
The Irishman put speculation of a fight with ‘Money’ to one side as he demolished Eddie Alvarez inside two rounds, taking the lightweight championship and adding it to the featherweight crown he already owns.
A super fight between Mayweather and McGregor has been heavily rumoured throughout 2016, and the retired boxing legend didn’t hold back when Notorious was brought up again earlier this week.

Mayweather thought it was disrespectful that he was compared to McGregor over and over again, claiming elephants don’t beef with ants, and the MMA star hit back when he told TMZ to tell Floyd to say it to his face.
McGregor then went on to challenge him to a $100 million fight, but nothing has come to fruition on that front just yet.
However, UFC president Dana White has stepped in, at last, providing his two cents on the whole situation.
As expected, White stood by his most prized asset and slammed Mayweather’s fighting style, and wants him to show some respect to the current two-weight world champion.
According to Hypebeast, White said: “Conor McGregor, if he touches you, you go to sleep.
“Floyd puts people to sleep too, with his fighting style, not with his hands.
“Floyd can say what he wants about Conor, but even other fighters have to respect him. He’s special.
“Floyd’s never even come close to doing to other fighters what Conor does.”
It does seem like the best way to generate a buzz, even if the fight doesn’t go ahead, but it doesn’t seem likely that Mayweather will stand down once he hears what the UFC president has had to say about him.
