Earlier this week on SmackDown Live, The Undertaker made his highly anticipated return during The Cutting Edge segment, delivering a message to the five superstars representing the blue brand at the Survivor Series pay-per-view.

The biggest statements given by The Deadman were that WrestleMania would no longer define who he is, meaning he’ll stick around for other events, and he also made an enormous promise.

He revealed that should team SmackDown fail at Survivor Series against Raw, then they would have a reason to fear him, and the WWE have done this for a very particular reason.

RingSideNews are reporting that the star that will cost SmackDown the match on Sunday – meaning the Stephanie McMahon and Mick Foley will leave the happier duo – will go on to feud with The Undertaker.

The man rumoured to battle The Phenom next year is current WWE World Champion, AJ Styles.

The belief is that The Phenomenal One will cost his side as the captain, and go on to defend the title against The Undertaker at the Royal Rumble event, as he’s seen as a more reliable worker that can help carry The Deadman in an intense singles match.

Not only that, they’re speculating that he could go on to dethrone Styles and walk out as the new champion, leading into another epic feud towards WrestleMania.

Fans first thought John Cena would return to battle Styles again, beating him for the title to tie Ric Flair’s record of World Championship wins, but plans could be a little different.

Should ‘Taker defeat Styles, this would lead to Cena’s return and the match the world wants to see at WrestleMania.

They’re claiming that here’s talk behind the scenes that this potential match will have The Undertaker’s career on the line, with Cena taking him on in his retirement match and giving him his 16th world title with the victory.

If that does go ahead as speculated, we can’t complain that he was able to feud with Styles and Cena before calling it a day – and winning another world championship in the process.
