Football News

Carlos Kameni produced one of the best performances of his career for Malaga against Barcelona at the Camp Nou this evening.

The 32-year-old somehow managed to keep a clean sheet, despite the fact the hosts had 28 shots at goal and 80.8 per cent possession.

Kameni was the game’s standout performer and capped his fine individual performance with a majestic save from Neymar in stoppage time. (Scroll down to watch the video).

When the ball was crossed to the unmarked Brazilian inside the six-yard box with 10 seconds of the match remaining, it looked a certain goal.

But Kameni, even though he’s rushed out of his goal and got nowhere near the cross, recovered and produced a remarkable one-handed save at his near post.

Twitter reacts

Here’s how Twitter - including the former Juventus and Manchester United goalkeeper Edwin van der Sar - reacted to Kameni’s magnificent save.

(Is that Kameni or Casillas from 2006?)

Wasted opportunity for Barcelona

This was a wasted opportunity for Barcelona who were without both Lionel Messi and Luis Suarez this evening.

Luis Enrique’s men stay second in La Liga, although Real Madrid will extend their lead over the Catalan giants to four points if they defeat local rivals Atletico at the Vicente Calderon this evening.

If Atleti win then they will leapfrog Barça into pole position.
