How would you react if you ever met your sporting hero?

Would you try and play it cool? Or would you do the complete opposite and make it clear this was now the greatest day of your entire life?

For most of us, unfortunately, we’ll never know. However, one Japanese rugby union fan couldn’t hide his excitement and sheer delight after meeting his hero last year.

The guy in question couldn’t believe his luck when he bumped into rugby union legend Shane Williams before a World Cup match between Wales and Uruguay in Cardiff.

And his reaction, which you can watch by scrolling down to the video, is so heartwarming we guarantee it’ll make your day.

He passed Williams the pen and then just starred at him for a second. Bit awkward.

“Want me to sign your shirt?” Williams asked the awestruck fan before agreeing to take a photo.

The fan was on the verge of losing it completely for a split second before Williams calmed him down and got him to focus.

“It’s okay buddy,” the Welshman said, “chill out.”

They both had a good laugh and took a couple more pictures before going their separate ways.

Williams enjoyed a great career

Williams is a big name in Japan after spending the final three years of his illustrious career with Mitsubishi Dynaboars.

The 39-year-old also plated for Neath and Ospreys during his career and scored 58 tries in 91 appearances for Wales before quitting international rugby in 2011.
