Liverpool fans may only have fleeting memories of Suso and his spell at the club, for his time there garnered just a handful of appearances.

However, Milan fans will likely be taking a different view of him following Sunday night's performance against cross-city rivals Inter.

The Derby della Madonnina lived up to all expectations as it produced an electrifying 2-2 draw, but the 23-year-old Spaniard was undoubtedly the star of the show.

Suso bagged his first goals at the San Siro in some style, opening the scoring and put Milan on course to climb up to second place in the Serie A table.

However, Milan were pegged back by Antonio Candreva at the start of the second half. Suso extended Milan's lead, but as three points were in sight parity was restored with a late strike from Ivan Perisic.

But despite the late hammer blow to Milan, all focus will be on Suso's performance. His first goal was a well taken effort as Milan poured forward he received the ball on the right, cutting inside to curl a sublime effort beyond the outstretched hand of Samir Handanovic.

Judging by the celebration that goal meant a lot to him, and will surely do his prospects of remaining in the Milan starting XI no harm at all.

But while his first was a sweet curling effort, his second was a display of the tight footwork that Liverpool fans only saw glimpses of.

Receiving a smart cut-back from the right flank, he managed to bamboozle Brazilian defender Miranda before slotting cooly past the goalkeeper.

He's certainly come a long way since those early days at Anfield, but it's good to see that he's developing into a truly exciting talent.
