Plans for the Intercontinental Championship following WWE Survivor Series

At Survivor Series this past Sunday, the WWE produced a lot of shocks, including one in the match between The Miz and Sami Zayn for the Intercontinental championship.

Prior to the pay-per-view, it was widely tipped there would be a new Intercontinental champion, as Zayn was the favourite to win the match. However, that wasn't the case, as The Miz left Survivor Series with the title still over his shoulder.

Now, a rumour has emerged on NoDQ as to why this call was made by the company.

According to their report: "The decision to put the Intercontinental title back on The Miz last week was a last minute call in the company. They mainly did it to get the right heel/face alignment for the Survivor Series match against Sami Zayn.

"It is expected for The Miz to resume his feud with Dolph Ziggler and possibly have a rematch for the title at the TLC event."

The WWE finished the Intercontinental championship match the right way because now isn't the time for the title to transfer over to the Raw brand, nor is it time to take the championship away from The Miz, who has arguably been one of the best heels in the company this year.

The Miz and Ziggler's original feud began after SummerSlam earlier this year, with The Showoff winning the title at No Mercy and held it before losing it last week on SmackDown to The Awesome One.

It is now expected that the two will feud with one another once more up until TLC, which is around the time the WWE starts to roll in their WrestleMania storylines. Hopefully, The Miz is the one to carry the title into WrestleMania 33 next year. He deserves to do so after the incredible year he has had as a heel.
