Cristiano Ronaldo has heaped complete misery on Antoine Griezmann this year.
In May, the Real Madrid star scored the winning penalty to beat Atletico Madrid in the Champions League final.
Then at Euro 2016, Griezmann’s France were beaten by Portugal in the final despite being the favourites.
So that’s two final losses for Griezmann at the hands of Ronaldo. The 31-year-old poured salt in the wounds on Sunday, scoring a hat-trick as Real beat Atletico 4-0 in the Madrid derby.
Griezmann is probably delighted that he won’t see Ronaldo again until April 9, when Atleti travel to the Santiago Bernabeu.
That 1-0 defeat to Portugal in the Stade de France presumably still haunts Griezmann. The stage was set for Les Bleus to win their first trophy since 2000 in front of a home crowd, but they failed to deliver when it mattered.
In an interview with France Football, Ronaldo revealed that he met Griezmann in America shortly after the final. The Frenchman had just four words to say to the three-time Ballon d’Or winner.
“It's funny because shortly after the final, while I was on vacation in Miami, I met Antoine Griezmann in a restaurant where he was dining with his fiancee,” Ronaldo said, per Goal.
“He came over to my table and said with a sly smile: 'Cristiano, I hate you!'"

It’s no surprise. Ronaldo also got the better of Griezmann in the 2014 Champions League final.
If not for Cristiano, we could be talking about Griezmann as a European Championship and two-time Champions League winner.
He really is the ultimate bridesmaid.
