At Survivor Series, Goldberg defeated Brock Lesnar in under two minutes, but a few months ago, we were discussing another man who was defeated in a similar timeframe.

That man is CM Punk, who made his UFC debut against Mickey Gall at UFC 203, only to be defeated in the first round and within a couple of minutes.

After nearly two years of training and preparing for his octagon debut, it was all over for the former WWE Champion after he was taken down by Gall, pounded, and then put in a rear naked choke.

He had no choice but to submit and accept defeat, throwing his future in UFC into doubt.

Straight after the fight, Punk was clearly emotional and devastated, but he was adamant that he wouldn't quit the sport, insisting that he wants to fight again.

The former WWE star then reiterated that desire in his press conference, confirming that he will return to the cage whenever his team allow him to.

However, in a recent interview, Punk has issued an update on his future and whether it's still with UFC.

Punk appeared on MMA Hour where he discussed his debut against Gall and also his own personal future, and despite Dana White being unsure on his future, the former wrestler is still adamant he wants to fight again.

Punk revealed that he and White are in talks about his future, and although he didn't give too much away, he did confirm that the plans are to do with UFC.

“We’re back at it and we’re back to the drawing board,” Punk said.

“So it’s up to him. He floated me an idea and we’re kind of going back and forth on it right now.

"I’m at the point where I kind of want to get something on paper. You might hear an announcement in the coming weeks. There’s no timetable, though.”
