For Henrikh Mkhitaryan, Thursday night's performance against Feyenoord might just represent the turning point in his Manchester United career.
Since joining from Borussia Dortmund last summer, Jose Mourinho has used Mkhitaryan sparingly as the Armenian struggled to adapt to his new surroundings at Old Trafford.
Whenever he has been given a rare opportunity, the player who was voted the Bundesliga's Player of the Season last year had little to any impact on proceedings - until Thursday.
Starting on the left of midfield, the Mkhitaryan of 2015/16 made his appearance of the season with a very exciting run out.
Straight from the first whistle, the summer signing from Dortmund looked alert and eager to impress.
A wonderful piece of link-up play with Wayne Rooney nearly carved open their Dutch opponents early on but it proved to be just a hint of what was to come.
Mkhitaryan was even confident enough to attempt a few strikes on goal but failed to seriously test Feyenoord goalkeeper Brad Jones.
Arguably the highlight of the night, however, was one particular run from deep in the second half which committed four defenders.
Man United fans will be particularly excited to see the video below, as the 27-year-old produced a brilliant turn of pace to glide past each man who dared to put a challenge in.
That was until one man who he had already beaten recovered to seemingly bring Mkhitaryan down illegally on the edge of the box.
Or at least that's what the majority of those at Old Trafford thought. Referee Manuel Gräfe disagreed and surprisingly waved play to continue.
Regardless, it was still a big night for the Armenian who, probably for the first time since joining the club, looked like a proper Man United player.
Mourinho also praised Mkhitaryan's performance after the game and thinks his next challenge has got to be trying to produce a similar display in the Premier League.
“He needs now to replicate this kind of performance in the Premier League,” Mourinho said.
“The Europa League is different, he needs one more step and it gives him the right to believe he can play in the next match and play with more physicality, more aggression.
“But he has the quality and that is why we bought him.”
Next up for United is West Ham on Sunday and after such a good game against Feyenoord, you wouldn't bet against Mkhitaryan being given another chance to shine.
