The careers of Jack Wilshere and Danny Welbeck have both sadly stalled over the course of the last couple of years.

Injuries have well and truly hampered both players and it's far from certain as to whether either one of them will reach their potential.

Welbeck, of course, is still out on the sidelines - he was ruled out for nine months back in May - while Wilshere has, of course, departed north London in favour of a loan move to Bournemouth.

The classy midfielder has enjoyed a fine run in the Bournemouth team of late but was deemed ineligible to face his parent club this afternoon.

Wilshere opted to take his place in the stands to watch the two sides go head-to-head and, unsurprisingly, he was joined by Welbeck.

The reaction

It's not exactly certain as to just where Wilshere's loyalties lie and he certainly didn't give any indication after Alexis Sanchez handed the Gunners the lead.

Welbeck, on the other hand, couldn't contain his excitement and brilliantly reacted to the goal.

As you can see below, Wilshere decided to keep his head down while Welbeck had a huge grin on his face.

As you can imagine, Arsenal fans responded to Welbeck's reaction. Here are the best tweets:

It's all level

Eddie Howe's troops rallied well after conceding and deservedly equalised - albeit slightly controversially - in the 23rd minute.

Nacho Monreal was judged to have fouled Calum Wilson in the box by referee Mike Dean and the Bournemouth forward picked himself up to dispatch the subsequent penalty past Petr Cech.

Arsenal fans: do you think Wilshere has a future at your club? Have your say below!
