With Survivor Series in the books, the next cross promotional event within the WWE will be January's Royal Rumble event.

This year the Royal Rumble will head to San Antonio and take place at the Alamo Bowl where they will try and sell out 60,000 tickets.

A favourite with no chance of winning?

While the title matches are yet to be announced, the main event will without doubt be the Royal Rumble match itself.

There are always a lot of favourites when this match roles around but one of the early contenders could be ruled out due to his current deal with WWE.

Chris Jericho is enjoying a particularly successful run in the company right now and he is expected to be entered into the Rumble.

Unfortunately for Y2J, his current deal - which is a month to month deal is rumoured to be preventing him being considered as a possible winner.

With Jericho working month to month, the company haven't been able to use him in promotional material for events further down the line.

Jericho had been expected to once again take time off from WWE earlier this year to record a new album and go on tour with his band Fozzy.

However his current work with Kevin Owens becoming one of the fans' favourite parts of Monday Night RAW right now, he is clearly happy to remain with the company for a bit longer.

While the Rumble is still two months away, there is always a chance that Jericho's contract could be altered and he could commit to something more long term.

If that was to happen, it certainly would be interesting to see if the plans regarding Jericho's immediate future.
