John Cena has been the face of the WWE for so long now, it seems weird when the Leader of the Cenation isn't around.

The 15-time world champion has been absent for about a month now to film the second season of FOX’s American Grit. Cena was originally scheduled to return to weekly WWE programming at the end of December through January, however, that is very likely to change.

According to report by Variety, Cena will take one of two lead roles in Kay Cannon’s directorial debut, 'The Pact'. Leslie Mann and Ike Barinholtz have also been cast for the movie that will keep Cena's recent roll with comedy flicks going.

The plot for the film reads: “Three parents who, upon discovering that their daughters have made a pact to lose their virginity on prom night, go out and try and stop them before it’s too late.”

While it hardly sounds like an Oscar is coming his way, Cena is undoubtedly making inroads into Hollywood and approaching his 40th birthday in April, his ambitions are plain to see.

Of course, Cena once chastised The Rock for using the WWE as a platform for his movie career, and The Great One is now the highest paid actor in the world, according to Forbes.

If Cena was to miss the Royal Rumble, NoDQ.com speculates that he certainly wouldn't miss WrestleMania. The movie has no exact date as of yet, but, if like The Rock, he continues to keep himself busy, it will become increasingly difficult for Cena to enjoy time in a WWE ring.
