Mario Balotelli performs skilful tricks inside his own living room

Mario Balotelli

After failed spells at AC Milan and Liverpool, Mario Balotelli made a blistering start to life at Nice before an injury picked up in shooting practice ruled him out of action.

Prior to that, the striker had impressively registered seven goals in nine games and showed signs that he could be finally ready to fulfil his undoubted potential, but he hasn't played since a 1-0 loss at Caen on November 6.

His new side, who are currently joint-top of Ligue 1 with Monaco, host Toulouse on Sunday night, and a recent video posted by the mercurial 26-year-old suggests he could be close to a return.

There is no doubt that Nice have missed Balotelli in recent weeks, and you could forgive the French club for wrapping up their summer signing in cotton wool as he regains full fitness.

However, as you can see in the video further down the page, the Italy international took time out to work on his touch by doing some keepie-uppies and pulling off some other skilful tricks inside his very own living room.

A video uploaded on Balotelli's Instagram account, along with the caption, "Playing around the house", shows the forward displaying things from balancing a ball on the back of his neck to completing an "around the world":

In typical Balotelli fashion, the video ends with him having a bit of fun and smashing the ball to all parts of his living room as he connected with a few trick shots.

Balotelli has been outstanding for Nice thus far, acting as a focal attacking point in their three-at-the-back system, bullying defenders with his strength and pace, and showing good movement and clinical finishing in front of goal.

A win for Nice this evening, without Balotelli, will give them the outright lead in the French top-flight and put them four points clear of Paris Saint-Germain, having played the same number of games as the defending champions.
