Sasha Banks captured the Raw Women's championship this past week on Monday Night Raw by defeating Charlotte Flair in a Falls Count Anywhere match. This is the third time she has won the title and it's well deserved as she truly is one of best superstars in the women's division.
Banks probably never would have become a WWE superstar if it wasn't for one wrestling legend: Eddie Guerrero. She has styled a lot of her in-ring moves from what the Hall of Famer used to do inside the squared circle. She even wore some Guerrero tights earlier this year at WrestleMania 32.
Speaking to Sports Illustrated, the 24-year-old mentioned how influential the former WWE champion is to her still today.

She said: “There wouldn’t be Sasha Banks if there wasn’t Eddie Guerrero, he was truly my idol. I still look up to him to this day. Everything I do in the ring, I think ‘would Eddie do that? Would Eddie be proud of me?’
"And if I got to meet him I would just tell him thank you. He changed my life and I would not be the person I am today if I never saw him wrestle the first time I did.”
Without a doubt, Banks is one of the top female superstars in the WWE today. Alongside Charlotte Flair, the two have been doing incredible work inside the ring to elevate the Raw Women's title higher than what any Women's title has been in the past since the days of Lita and Trish Stratus.
She deserves more respect as a champion, and the way to do that would be to allow her to hold onto the championship for longer than a month. The title can still change hands, but it needs to happen less than what it is right now.
Banks has helped change the Women's division for the better since she joined the main roster over a year ago, and we have Eddie Guerrero to thank for that. Another reason amongst many to love the WWE Hall of Famer.
