Fans knew that Heath Slater’s unlikely alliance with Rhyno wasn’t going to last, but it looks as if we could be heading for a break-up sooner than expected.
The duo overcame the odds on SmackDown Live when they captured the tag team championships, and it certainly helped Slater with his newfound popularity following the brand split.
TENSION IN THE CAMP
However, after their loss at the TLC pay-per-view to The Wyatt Family, some cracks have been visible between the pair, and the tension reached new levels this past week on Talking Smack with WrestlingInc.com speculating that their partnership could be coming to a bitter end.

As they discussed losing their rematch to Bray Wyatt and Randy Orton earlier in the evening, Rhyno hit out at Slater, claiming that he was carrying the load for the team during the contest.
He said: “I didn’t know I was going to be the only one out in the ring tonight.”
Daniel Bryan weighed in on the situation, but Rhyno hit out again, telling the SmackDown general manager not to jump in before Slater told him that he didn’t know they were keeping score.
Rhyno stormed off the set when Slater told him that he lost the titles for them, and it doesn’t look likely that the two will be able to work things out as the tag team division progresses without them.
It could be a good decision to turn Rhyno heel, as it gives Slater even more support from the WWE Universe as a face and we get to see how he does as a singles star, as opposed to being in a tag team with gold around his waist.
It’s definitely a risk worth taking, and a feud against Rhyno is probably what Slater needs to cement his place as a valuable mid-card star on the blue brand, rather than reverting to the jobber role he’s worked so hard to escape from.
At the same time, there are tag teams in the division who haven’t been doing anything noteworthy, such as The Hype Bros or even The Usos, so dissolving Beauty and The Man Beast could be the best long-term decision for that division.
It turns out, in the end, Rhyno probably doesn’t care that Slater has kids. Or bills. Or an above-ground pool.
