Crewe first-team coach Steve Holland is hopeful of strengthening his side with at least one loan signing ahead of Leyton Orient's visit to Gresty Road on Saturday.

Holland has vowed to continue to work hard behind the scenes in a bid to bring in the type of players that will help Alex climb away from the bottom of League One.

"We are on going with our search for new players because we do recognise that the team needs improving in one or two areas. We have made progress on one or two but at this stage of the week we have nothing concrete to report," Holland told the club?s official website.

"We don't want to be bringing in players just for the sake of it. We want players who will make a difference to us and help us get out of the bottom four as quickly as possible."
