Newcastle goalkeeper Tim Krul has joined Carlisle on a month's loan.

The 20-year-old Dutchman, who spent much of last season Falkirk, has linked up with the League One side after Ben Alnwick returned to Tottenham.

Krul has only one senior competitive appearance to his name for the Magpies, although it was a notable one as he kept a clean sheet in a 1-0 UEFA Cup victory over Palermo in Sicily in 2006.
