Former Arsenal defender Nigel Winterburn has called for Paul Ince to be given time to succeed as Blackburn manager.

The former Manchester United and England midfielder is already under pressure at Ewood Park after only taking over in the summer, with Rovers currently second from bottom in the Barclays Premier League.

Blackburn's defensive coach Winterburn told BBC Radio Five Live: "If you give Paul time, then you can make a judgment on him but you can't judge somebody after 15 games."

He added: "Even talking about judging him at the end of the season - give him at least two or three seasons to work his way into the job.

"It almost seems now we are very judgmental within a few games, it's absolutely crazy."
