Kyle Lafferty rescued a point for Rangers in a 2-2 draw at Dundee United but their Clydesdale Bank Premier League title challenge was again hit by frailties in the air.
The visitors were comfortable at half-time thanks to Kris Boyd's early strike but United soon turned the game on its head as Lee Wilkie and Warren Feeney both converted Paul Dixon crosses within four minutes.
Rangers struggled to get back in the game until substitute Lafferty finished well 14 minutes from time and they pushed in vain for a late winner.
