Late goals from Roman Bednar and Craig Beattie gave West Brom a deserved 2-0 victory over a poor Tottenham side who played 55 minutes with 10 men.

Tottenham were struggling even before left-back Benoit Assou-Ekotto was sent off for an over-the-top challenge on Gianni Zuiverloon in the 35th minute.

The Baggies dominated throughout but had to wait until seven minutes from time for Bednar to break the deadlock when he headed home before substitute Craig Beattie stabbed home a second in injury time.
