Bolton manager Gary Megson has defended the club's actions in their unsuccessful attempts to sign West Brom midfielder James Morrison.

The Wanderers manager was criticised by the Baggies last week after news of a £3million bid was made public.

"There's a way of doing business, how it is supposed to be done, by the book, and then there is the reality," Megson told the Bolton News. "We followed the protocol that was set when Abdoulaye Meite left this place for West Brom in the summer."
