Port Vale striker Luke Rodgers has had his contract terminated by mutual consent.

The 27-year-old, who has been on loan at League One side Yeovil, scored 20 goals in 66 games for Vale since joining from Crewe in January 2007.

A permanent move to Huish Park has yet to be finalised while Northampton have also been linked with a swoop for Rodgers, who would have been out of contract at the end of the season.
