League leaders Liverpool had to settle for a point after failing to break down a feisty Stoke side in a goalless encounter at the Britannia Stadium.
Steven Gerrard twice rattled the woodwork in the last five minutes and Dirk Kuyt steered a header wide from a good position.
However, Stoke also carved out a number of good chances and Rory Delap should have scored only for his close-range effort to hit the underside of the bar.
