Crystal Palace manager Neil Warnock insists there has been no offer from Middlesbrough for wantaway midfielder Ben Watson.

The Premier League strugglers were reported to have made a formal enquiry for the 23-year-old over the weekend.

Warnock recently admitted Boro, along with another top-flight club, had been in contact over Watson last month, but claims he has heard nothing from Gareth Southgate since, telling the Croydon Advertiser: "There has been no offer."

He added: "They were in contact about five or six weeks ago, but there is nothing at the minute."

Watson turned down new deal at Selhurst Park in the summer and will be out of contract in December.
