Bristol City striker Steve Brooker is in talks with Championship rivals Doncaster about a permanent move to the Keepmoat Stadium.

The two clubs have agreed a fee for the 27-year-old and personal terms are being discussed.

Brooker had a loan spell at the south Yorkshire club in December but his stay was cut short after he suffered a torn calf muscle in training and the striker is now close to returning to action and Doncaster have shown an interest in signing him on a permanent basis.

"We have agreed a fee with Doncaster and now it is up to Steve to discuss personal terms with them," City chief executive Colin Sexstone told the club's official website. "However, nothing is likely to be completed until after the weekend."
